Denise,

What are your thoughts on eating beans for a person who doesn't have any obvious health issues? I already eat pretty clean, so I'm wondering what beans would do for me and how much I need. Does Karen Hurd talk about this at all? Does she believe everyone should eat a certain amount each day regardless of their health status?

Thanks!

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer, I know we have spoken but I thought I would answer here for others interested. Outside of the US the world eats beans regularly. If you don't have a problem with your stomach like I did you do not need to start with the "white" diet. Beans help us clear out the fat soluble waste into the toilet instead of recycling back into your body. You can start integrating beans slowly but regularly into each meal. If you do not eat beans I would start with a teaspoon first. See how that feels and after a few days increase it to two teaspoons until you can get to 1/2 a cup per meal. The ideal is 1 1/2 cups of beans per day. Along with the beans adding 1/2 cup of nuts a couple of times a day between meals. Karen Hurd is on multiple podcasts where she discusses this and more. All the best. Denise
